Audio files are huge, much larger than you may realize. A book may be 50-100 MB depending on the length.
OverDrive has each book broken into “chunks” which you can download all at once, or just one or a few at a time depending on your internet connection speed and the amount of time you have.
NetLibrary offers downloadable books through two options:
- Radio quality which is not a very high quality, but designed for those who have a dial-up connection.
- CD quality – a higher quality with longer download time for those who have a broadband connection.
- If you want your users to be able to transfer downloadable digital audio books from NetLibrary/Recorded Books to a portable playback device, please inform them that they must download the CD quality version of the digital audio book.
