Download from the Internet

PDAWith this method of distribution, the reader finds the content he wants and downloads it to his computer.

The content then can be listened to on the computer, burned to a CD, or transferred to a compatible handheld device.

Information buttonAudio files are huge, much larger than you may realize. A book may be 50-100 MB depending on the length.

OverDrive has each book broken into “chunks” which you can download all at once, or just one or a few at a time depending on your internet connection speed and the amount of time you have.

NetLibrary offers downloadable books through two options:

  • Radio quality which is not a very high quality, but designed for those who have a dial-up connection.
  • CD quality – a higher quality with longer download time for those who have a broadband connection.
  • If you want your users to be able to transfer downloadable digital audio books from NetLibrary/Recorded Books to a portable playback device, please inform them that they must download the CD quality version of the digital audio book.
