You will want to ask some of the following questions about purchase and lease options for your digial audio collection.
- How long of an agreement do you need to sign? Is it a year to year, a two year, a three year? Make sure you know how long you are committing to.
- What happens if you are in a consortia and a member drops out? This may not be a problem if you are working with netLibrary and the entire subscription is leased. If you are using another vendor and the libraries are “purchasing” a collection, it is important for libraries to know what happens if they drop out.
- If you are a single library and purchasing books as part of a collection, what happens to the collection if you lower the number of purchases or you have a budget cut? What happens if you decide to add more libraries? Can you add more libraries?
